About this preview

This is an unofficial preview of the Firefly III documentation, rebuilt with Sourcey, an open-source docs engine licensed under AGPL-3.0. It is not run by the Firefly III project. Search engines are asked not to index it, and it comes down on request, or after 30 days.

What it is built from

• The documentation repository, firefly-iii/docs at 598c28c, converted with sourcey migrate: all 143 pages at their current addresses, with every heading link still landing, the four sections in one sidebar, in the site's own Roboto and colours.
• The API reference from firefly-iii/api-docs (v6.7.8), with a page for each of its 244 operations and 255 models. The guides' links to the Swagger site open the operation itself.

Measured beside the current site

Both sites were built from their own sources and served side by side on one machine, compressed as hosts serve them. Each page was opened in a fresh browser at 1440 by 1000 pixels and measured once the network settled, on 21 October 2026 with Sourcey 3.8.3.

Most of either side's download is the site's own Roboto files, which cover Cyrillic, Greek and Vietnamese. The current site also fetches its 170 KB search index on every page; the preview's search fetches 85 to 122 KB, and only when someone searches.

As one page the API reference came to 40 MB of HTML, so each operation has a page of its own, first painting within 0.33 s: plain HTML that search engines and assistants can read and anyone can link to.

The preview builds in 19.3 s from cold, peaking at 1.34 GB of memory, against 33.5 s and 321 MB for the current site; with their caches, 3.6 s against 4.4 s. It writes 143.3 MB, of which 83.2 MB is what readers load (the current site writes 38.5 MB, 36.5 MB of it for readers) and 44.7 MB is a social card for each page.

For agents

Every page and operation is also published as Markdown, with an llms.txt, a documents index and the OpenAPI bundle.

Links on the current site that no longer land

All ten are on the changelog: older entries link to documentation addresses from before the docs were reorganised, and each now answers 404.
